Worship $11.99 On a rainy June evening, Michael joined nearly 10,000 worshippers including Amy Grant, Shaun Groves, Darwin Hobbs, Greg Long, Cindy Morgan, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Ginny Owens, Chris Rice and Mark Schultz at Carpenter’s Home Church in Lakeland, FL to record the album that has been on his heart for over five years. Leading worship is nothing new to Michael. His songs “Great is the Lord” and “Thy Word” are included in most hymnals, and the Smitty-penned “Agnus Dei” is popular in most modern worship circles. Michael describes how he chose the songs by saying, “It’s always been my goal, if I did the record, to pick the twelve songs that just slay you.” And that’s what he did. From “Let It Rain” to “Heart Of Worship” Michael leads with a sense of humility, shedding all pride. “This is not about me,” says Michael. “We did this to worship God.”Log On To Michael’s Official Website And Sign Up For Friends Online! Free to Worship $18.99 For Fred Hammond it has been that kind of year. The end of 2005 saw his first co-executive produced movie The Gospel become both a hit movie and soundtrack. Then he moved lock, stock and recording studio from his hometown of Detroit, MI to Dallas, TX. In addition, his brand new release this year marks the 25th anniversary of Fred’s career as a recording artist. According to those in attendance at TD Jakes Potter’s House Church in Dallas in April, it was a praise party like no other. The reason was clear, Fred Hammond was recording his new CD, “Free to Worship.” Joining Fred Hammond on stage that night were several gospel and R&B luminaries. A special highlight on Free To Worship is the duet Fred did with Ruben Studdard, “Just a Closer Walk.” Free To Worship includes much of Hammond’s live performance at the Potter’s House Church, plus some very special, brand-new studio recordings. |

Spiritual Disciplines Within The Church $14.99 Why should I go to church? Why should I give so time to people I hardly know? Instead of being so focused on individual needs, Donald Whitney calls us to the discipline of living in community. It is only through our local church that we truly experience life in the body of Christ. In a world committed to self-seeking and the thirst for individual rights, it is hard to create a genuine community based on self-sacrifice and mutual commitment–but that is just what the church must do. In Spiritual Disciplines Within the Church seminary professor, author, and former pastor Don Whitney shows how the local church can build a sense of community and turn church people from passive attendees into active participants. Whitney looks at such frequently asked questions as:* Why can’t I get by on my own?* Why should I go to church?* Why should I give of myself to the church?* Why do I need to worship in church? Couldn’t I just worship in nature?* Why does it matter whether I become a member of the church?Committed love must mark the local expression of the body of Christ. By putting spiritual disciplines into practice in the church, congregations can return to the depth of community present in the New Testament church, where they “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” |
