Mordechai Vanunu: 1986 Whistle Blower Saga Israeli WMD program 2005-2010
Just days before my first of seven trips to Israel and Palestine occupied in June 2005, a friend told me Palestinian-American, â € œDonâ € ™ t visit Vanunu, if you see him nâ € ™ t talk to him. Hea € ™ is not authorized to talk to strangers and you could cause him trouble.â €

On the third day of my fifth trip to occupied East Jerusalem, I crossed paths with Vanunu July 16, 2007, the 9th of Av, the day that commemorates the Jewish Temple € ™ s destruction.

In 2005, Vanunu said:
â € OEI really had no idea what I was getting baptized Christian, I felt as if I had to do it. It was my way of being a new. It wasnâ ™ € t after my trial, I started reading the New Testament.
â € œWhile I was in prison I would read aloud for half an hour twice a day. I read the entire New Testament and starts again when I finished the book of the Apocalypse. I've done for me and for my captors. Not as prison guards, but those who watched me on camera 24 hours a day.
â € œOnce I covered up the camera spied on me and was punished for one month in isolation, without any books or radio, no contact with anyone anywhere was admitted.
â € OETH Shen Beet, you know how the FBI and the Mossad, like your CIA watching me constantly. They tortured me by keeping a light on in my cell constantly for two years. They told me it was because they were afraid I would kill myself, and the oppressive camera was for my safety. They recruited the guards and other prisoners to irritate me. They are depriving me of sleep by making loud noises near my cell all night.

â € œFor the first five years I was in prison every day, twice a day, I pray aloud by reading Bible verses. I also read the Anglican service of the Book of Common Prayer. I did it twice per day, every day for five years.
â € OEI began to see that I had become like a machine. I knew if I continued I would lose my mind. So after I prayed silently. Same if I knew I was driving them nuts with my loud praying, it was driving me nuts too.â €
On my last day in Jerusalem in June 2005, I met Vanunu to the American colony, and we walked as fast as two new Yorkersâ € ™ top of the hill, the Mount of Olives. When we reached there to visit the graves of many Jews, Vanunu said, â € œThose the Jews await the first resurrection when the Messiah comes.â €
I asked Vanunu:
â € œHave you heard about the folly of U.S. of the Left Behind series of books that leave behind them the gospel of peace and love. These books are bad theology and literature poor. Did you know that in America there are Christians who really want Armageddon? They believe they escape the nuclear holocaust, because they are now the new chosen. They think they will be removed, they think they are out of the planet. They believe that a theology the escape and they know that the Gospel is: â € ~ The peacemakers will be called the son of Goda € ™ and that Jesus is the Prince of Peace.â €
Vanunu replied, â € OETH time has come for the United States to see the truth of Zionism. It began as a secular nationalist movement, not religious. While some Christians believed when Israel became a nation, it was the beginning the second coming. They are mistaken if they believe that peace will come by atomic weapons. Nuclear weapons are weapons of the Holocaust. Christians should be the first cons € Thema | The Christians in America should be helping the Christians here. America needs to awaken to the fallacy that Jesus will return by nuclear war. America needs to wake up that Palestinian Christians here have no human rights. Arena Christian € ™ t supposed to be concerned about other Christians? Arena € ™ t Christians supposed to be concerned about all the poor and oppressed? Â €
I said, â € œIt is not negotiable, everything Jesus said about doing stuff for the least and the oppressed. It is not negotiable for Christians we must forgive our enemies and we must love those who hate us for what ever we do or do not we do to God!
â € œEvery time I went through a checkpoint, the wall saw or heard a story of oppression, I wondered how God can handle this situation. I do t.â € ™ €
At the summit of Mount of Olives, there are many sidewalk, but not a lot of trees. I found a tree cradling a few stone steps and sat down Vanunu wandered. After about ten minutes, Vanunu has returned and I immediately asked, â € œHow he was crucified for telling the truth? Â €
â € œMy human rights were denied me because I am a Christian. When I was testing I was treated like a Palestinian, not of human rights at all and cruel and unusual punishment, all because I told the truth.
